Loyalty cards at retail outlets

Virtually all the major retail outlets in my country have policies of issuing customers withy loyalty cards. Every time a customer makes a purchases, she earns some points, depending on the amount she has spent. Customers can redeem these points by obtaining 'free' products.

The matter of a loyalty card has led me to be especially fond of a particular retail outlet in my locality.

What has been your experience with loyalty cards?

This is my first time hearing about a loyalty card and I have places that I patronize very well but never got one from them. I will ask them if truly they have a loyalty card or they do not have one.

Most stores in my area have it for long time and you can get discounts. They have ads about it on doors or websites. It weird they don't offer you something like that on cash register.

The first time I got my own loyalty card was when I purchased a Manchester United official kit and the shop where I got it gave me a loyalty card which I was very happy to have.

Same here. Loyalty cards are popular. I also own a few loyalty cards and earn points for purchasing. Some loyalty cards also offer members special discounts on their birthday. I think loyalty card can engage customers effectively.

After considering the merits of the loyalty card that I have from a local retail store, I have come to the conclusion that all my purchases amount to investments that pay an interest of 1 percent. It turns out that the retailer awards me 1 point for every 100 KES spent. Each point is equivalent to 1 KES.

True. The policy of using loyalty cards to customers is a win-win. A business benefits by having customers returning every now and then to purchase products. Customers similarly enjoy the advantage of using the loyalty points earned to make purchases.

Can you use loyalty cards for payment system or gifts? In my country you can buy like 20$ gift card for specific store and give it as gift. Some games start reward people with those gift cards.

It is definitely a very good way for those companies to motivate their customers because they usually give them nice discounts I'm points to help them buy products cheaper.

Yes what you say is true, here too. Usually those who adopt a marketing strategy by giving loyalty cards are medium to upper scale businesses. As for small-scale businesses do not do it, because they feel it will further reduce profits.

This actually helps you to save money when buying especially from a retailer most times and will also help retailers to retain their customers with issuing of the loyalty cards.

Loyalty rewards are important to stimulate increased sales. It is a purely sales strategy that makes customers to patronize more in hope of an incentive. I have repeatedly patronized a brand for it's loyalty program.
