We call these here as "Indie Films". At first I thought it was from India. And got to understand that Indie stands for Independent films.
I think it is a good business if the short films can generate more viewership versus the low budget.

Sometimes they are funded by organizations or sponsors. Without them I think the short films won't be completed. Or they may opt to use low end technology to shoot their scenes.

Yes making short videos has really made adevertising a whole lot easier.So as business promoting short videos will be ideal.Even when a movie is premeiring they only show the trailor and been are excited and can't wait to watch the full movie.So if someone is good at this and has some marketing skills then they can make alot of money.

Nowadays people are impatient to watch long hours movies unless it is blockbuster action packed movies. They prefer watching short movies.
