That's right which is why when they reached our city they become costly just like the apples transported to Philippines from China, they arrived fresh but the price is doubled. Now that i knew I can't blame the handlers.

I think the fruits should be well packaged so that the body won't spoil before it gets to it's destination

These sellers are experts and it might be their business for many years. I interviewed one and he said his profit in a single van is 8,000peos net. And he delivered 30 vans of fruits via ship on the bill of lading in Manila, so he has a big profit. It is a good business for men only, it is stressful and the people surrounding you are men.

Fruits are delicate so these should be transferred carefully and mostly they transfer these in wooden boxes and have lots of newspaper of waste paper to use as cushion so these fruits stay safe
