Making/having a budget is always good. I always do that.

We should always have a plan to save money and spend money and in the absence of any plan we may spend more or spend on things we don't even require

Saving money in the bank is not usually the best way to go about it because the money would be used by the banks to make more money for themself instead of you.

I think I am clear on money matters. I save by putting a portion of my monthly earnings to a fixed deposit account. I invest by buying stocks, mutual funds and bonds to grow my wealth. I buy only what I need. I always look for good deals.
