I think egg is more lucrative because it is cheaper and affordable by everyone

I don't think egg production is cheaper as @Niyi Briggs has already stated up there. I heard that you have to feed the birds for 5 months before they start laying a single egg.

Yes, I totally agree with you. A profitable business is a business that is able to meet market needs. Although eggs and meat are both profitable. But usually people are more interested in chicken meat for their mainstay menu than eggs.

Egg is more profitable as if we consider all on the basis of daily usage. Egg are much more use on daily basis almost in all houses while meat use few days in a week.

I actually have a poultry farm but it is not the type where I breed layers that produces egg and I think it is not much profitable when compared to breeding birds that you sell for meat consumption.

Egg production is far more better because it is continuous. A broiler can lay upto 4 eggs days for 10 days continuously. Before broiler dies, it can lay hundreds of eggs which is not small amount of money. Egg production is far profitable.

I think egg production is more profitable than meat production. You will have to wait for 40 days for your chickens to be sold as meat, however, your chickens will give eggs every day and you make money every day

Sir, in our Nigeria, we know more than 80% of people can't afford to eat chicken every day. But that 80% would eat chicken for sure during festive period. That's seasonal market.

There are areas where majority of people can afford to buy chickens almost every week. I know someone who is into the business so I have a first-hand experience of what I'm saying. You also need to remember that restaurants and hotels buy chickens everyday.
