There are fewer utility vehicles running this time because of the rising price of gasoline, but the rich took advantage of the circumstance by buying vans and converting them into passenger vans. Commuters are forced to ride in a van having high fares than riding in a taxi. This is what I notice in my city. I do not know how your transportation was affected by the coronavirus presence and the war between Russia and Ukraine. I think this is a worldwide problem. Running on the national highways in my city are mostly private vans that hire commuters . There is no choice for everyone unless having wheels.

Presently, people are passing through difficult time since the pandemic. In my country, the same is applicable. Rich people are converting private van for commuters. Also, majority of the people are using Japanese vehicles that have low consumption than American cars.
It sounds funny but my city purchased a lot of mini -buses during the peak season of coronavirus. I also heard that they are going to face out the jeepneys. But the fare is too pricey. Sometimes I just walk from house to town and vice -versa.
A lot of people in my community started moving on foot, especially if they are not in a rush. This forced the transporters to reconsider their choices.

Also here in my country I see many hike if live nearer their work place. Students also hike in going to school if nearer. I pity them. They place towel on their back. My county is extremely hot and people are easily get perspired.
One of the things I plan to do when I havesa car is to.take it out to major bus terminals in the evenings. There, I can see people coming from a journey who would need taxi services. I can't have a car and not use it to make money somehow.
I haven't seen rich people doing such kind of business in my location. Most people here take subway, public buses and mini-vans. For those who can afford a private car, they don't mind the rising gasoline price.

In my place, most wheels running are vans for hire. The fare is somewhat expensive but people choose to ride in vans because they are airconditioned. The old jeepneys were no longer allowed to operate. They are replaced by new vehicles that look safe for passengers to ride.
I have seen a lot of private transportation companies evolved.
In this part of the world once the price of petrol goes up the price of transportation will also go up. But when it goes down they will never bring it down again.
