If the delay is very often, the employee should take note of how many times pay got delayed. If it happened often, time to tell the supervisor, or the manager. If no action from their level, I will go to Human Resources or Payroll.

What do you think are the right steps a worker can take when there's a consistent delayed of salary payment by the employer?
Honestly, the puzzle is very hard. I don't know the right step to take and who the workers can report the company to but I know that if they don't pay, workers wont do their work diligently

You don't want bypassing your boss. Report it to your boss but for sure your boss have heard about the delayed payment. Next step is the HR. If no active from HR, we report them to our labor department, a government agency for investigation.

Well that is true. Lastly, I will report such a company to the government and fold my arms to see what the government will do to that

I think it is better to go straight to the government agencies as the Boss might even be better of the company HR

The best way is to go by the book. They can try to re-check the guidebook of a company if they are not following what being signed by the two parties. We need to know the reasons why the salary was being delayed. I hope it is not the sign of bankruptcy.

In India when you are working in a private sector you cannot do anything when the salary is delayed because companies do that and the only option left is to manage or find a new job

Companies do delay to pay the wages to their workers due to so many factors but you just need to know the right decision to make and that is as to whether to just keep ignoring this flow or report to the laboiurs and wokers compansation agencies or to just quite the job. This is the problem you would ussually find with most private sectors just like what others have said.

Exactly, but channel the complaints property. We don't want anyone to be bypassed or being left hanging if we go to the higher management to complain. Impression is that we are approaching him/her because the supervisor is not capable.

There is nothing you can do except to bear it and be persevere. If after you have complained with courtesy and the situation doesn't improve, then the only option left is to either bear it or quit.

Not just in India. This happens in countries where strong labour laws are lacking. Most private companies are good in that. Randomly hiring and firing workers with ease.

Maybe bearing it for sometime to see how it goes. This leaving wouldn't even change anything then.
