Scavenging for money

I would start this kind of a company more especially if i have some good knowledge on how to recycle the plastic wastes into what most households would be buying from me.It is a good business and eco-friendly as you are able to all these things that can harm the environment.

I must admit that I did during my childhood years with my friends. We sold them to have some allowance at school.

I have never tried it but yes I see poor kids do that in order to earn small amounts but certainly its not a way to earn but just to survive

Just gathering it and sell to recyclers is very lucrative. There are young guys in Nigeria that specialize on doing this and it sustains them.

Before, scavenging was negatively perceived as business for the less privilege urchins, but now people have realized the potential in the business. It is now being done by all and sundry.

I spent 12 years in school, 4 years in college and 2 years in the university so that I can earn with a decent job.

I don't think I will ever involve myself in this type of business because I don't know anything about it.

This business i see it as something extremely stressful, and am pretty sure the pay is not that good. Imagine working for hours under the sun, only to be paid very little.

I seldom see people picking up metals and plastics to sell to companies. But there are elderlies picking up carton boxes, old newspapers and sell them to companies. I feel sorry for elderlies doing this kind of work because they need to carry these stuff which are quite heavy and are just making peanuts.

This is something that is carried out by mostly illiterate people that didn't go to school and I'm not sure if it's something that I would be interested in doing for any reason whatsoever.

I met a fellow at the local Bottle Drop (where you turn in empty bottles and cans for the deposit) and he shared why he had so many beer cans to cash in. I live in Oregon where there are a lot of farms and he had a route of farms where the workers would gather at the barn after a hard days work and share a few beers. When they went home, it left behind a real mess, so he contracted with the farmer that he would stop by each evening and clean up the mess if he could take the empties as payment. When I met him he had 25 farms on his route and averaged $3,000 USD a month for providing this service and the farmers loved him.

I used to sell used metal cans, bottles and plastics. There are metal scrap buyers that use to buy it. Though the money I make from these scraps is little but is something. I don't dispose them. Last year, the money I make from metal cans and plastics I use it to buy exercise books for my kids.

It is a street hustle for boys on the street. It is not what a person like me can do. I respect and appreciate the people that do it because it is legit.
