Should a master teach an apprentice everything?

We have situations where people go to understudy other people that have attained a certain level of mastery in a particular field.

They said that masters don't show apprentices everything about what they are learning. Is that true?

Is it right?

Would you show your apprentice all?

I don't think that an apprentice should wait for his master to teach him everything. On the other hand, i dont think is right to hide some important knowledge from your apprentice.

You are right about the apprentice waiting to be spoon fedbby the master. Dome masters don't disclose their own secrets to the apprentice. Insecurity is the cause of this.

I think that a master should teach things that are related his field because he tends to specialise in that field.

Honestly, masters cannot impart their knowledge in one day or so. It will take a lot of time before transferring soft skills to his apprentice. Why would not he give everything? There are some instances that he needs to keep some of his knowledgable on things to keep the job.

I don't believe a master has to teach the apprentice everything. There is what we call inventiveness. It is the ability to learn and discover things by yourself. It is important in learning a skill.

I don't think a master can teach an apprentice everything. There are certain skills or ways of doing things which the apprentice has to figure out himself/herself. There is always rooms for improvement.

I don't why but I noticed most people don't like to teach their apprentice everything because they might grow more than but I think they should for their progress and development.

You don't spoon feed an apprentice by opening everything to him. Let him show enthusiasm to learn by figuring out some things by himself. I know of people that learnt skills on their own through YouTube.

In as such as we are not to exhaust self trying to teach the next person but we should be good or kind them.tjr very basic things to help them.move faster in gaining knowledge

For me i believe a master should not teach the student everything, there are certain things the student should be able to study and learn themselves to improve their skills.

No it is not the best they need to use their initiative to figure out some things by doing personal learning. it is for their own personal growth. Learn some on your own

They do not teach us everything in school. A master should not teach an apprentice all the things.

it doesn't make sense for an apprentice to wait for his master to teach him everything i think only some important knowledge can be waited for not everything to fasten learning
