Yes, there is a time that a business owner needs to lie to the customer just to keep them. But then there is a thin line between the ethics of integrity and trying your best to keep your customers. You should never hurt your customers well being just because you want to keep them, sometimes being honest and losing a customer is the best thing. You need to know where that line starts so as to always do what is right.

If we see the idealistic approach, hiding a truth or telling half the truth is actually dishonesty. But then in practical world, businesses have to do it from time to time. If a well established brand is undergoing some internal conflicts and that is obvious enough to be reported vy media. But then the reputation; f the brand is on stake as well as their stocks prices might fall badly on these speculations. In such situations, they often handle the tricky situation with half lies/half truth accepting that they are facing problems but not the real magnitude of the problem thar they are facing. They sound optimistic to the world promising that things are getting resolved and would be soon back to track. And many a times they do resolve it and come back to their robust self in some time. So, the dishonesty here is actually not unethical and it helps the business to maintain their image and not let the consumers loose their trust. In such situations, it is a wise thing to do and fully justified

It is better to be honest than doing things that are not capable of. It can make or break the loyalty of customers. At least, it cannot make more damage its reputation for promising things that cannot be done effectively and efficiently.

The thing is that a dishonest act or claim cannot stay concealed forever. It would surely be exposed and your customers would all have leave. It is better to be honest and make little profits than be dishonest to make big profits which would close down the business.

Business owners should always be honest to their customers because the truth will always set one free and makes everything easier, being truthful in business will make customers always come to you because they know they are secured
