Investment in agriculture is significantly impacted by the lack of water. Since that agriculture uses more than 70% of the world's freshwater resources, agricultural yields can be drastically reduced by water scarcity, which increases food costs and increases food insecurity. A lower level of profitability may also come from farmers abandoning crops or switching to less water-intensive crops due to restricted water resources. The entire agricultural value chain, including input suppliers, processors, and distributors, may consequently be impacted. Investments in sustainable water management practices and technology, such as drip irrigation, rainwater harvesting, and water recycling systems, can assist decrease water use and boost crop yields, protecting agricultural investments.

Scarcity of water is one of major problem most farmers face in northern Nigeria. Drought have caused lose of hundreds of livestock in Chad and other tropical areas. The first most important factor to tackle in agriculture is providing constant water supply to livestock and crops. Once there is drought in most West Africa countries, it affects agronomic of entire region.

I wanted to set up a water leaf farm. I went to the site some few days ago. The site was okay. But the major challenge was that there was no source of water around that place. There is no agricultural venture that can work out without the availability of water.
