Twitter sale cancelled due to dispute over fake accounts

Elon Musk was planning to purchase twitter, yet he cancelled the deal due to a dispute over the number of fake accounts, he claimed that more than 20% of the accounts were fake. What percentage of twitter accounts do you think are fake?

I think fake accounts are everywhere. Facebook,twitter, Whatsapp... And it more then 20% I bet. People use these fake accounts to swindle people are they are growing more and more in number is alarming to say the least

It is true that there are a lot of fake accounts on all social media. Maybe more than 20% of Twitter accounts are fake.

It appears that only forums like this have comparatively few fake accounts, social media websites indirectly encourage people to have fake accounts since there is no accountability.

Elon Musk is quite an Intelligent person and that's why he backed out and wanted complete clarification and details from twitter on fake accounts which they were not willing to provide.

I guess maybe number is even bigger. Twitter have least restrictions about links or content so it attract many spamers. Only thing are shorter posts than on other social media.
Also it has many fake accounts for spreading fake news related to politics or elections.

I could understand why facebook account are fake: You cannot use facebook in peace where your family are your friends on Facebook so you could use spare account with NFT avatar for freelance purpose and making microjobs. Also this is big majority of people having spare account for freelance purpose and real account for family and friends that is like decorator and you do not post anything for espace from family hustle.

Really I have stop performing jobs where are related to NFT and airdrops on Twitter because from required entries by employer and set up by the airdrop follow NFT accounts and share NFT related discussions which violates the term of services of Twitter resulting account suspension.

I believe Twitter has a total of 290.5 million users, and 20% of that is 58.1 million. So there are a ton of fake accounts on Twitter. More than I would have ever thought there would be.

A Twitter could consider an invalid account just for placing an NFT avatar means the account should not be crypto related this is the criticea of Twitter. Means I see many accounts with NFT avatar being banned.
