Using Low Volume Keywords?

I saw this as a strategy to create a blog that ranks on YouTube. I do know that most tutorials emphasize that one needs to focus on high volume keywords which would probably leave those keywords with low volume unattended.

It makes sense to focus on them instead and get all that traffic, but does this strategy work?
It should, but there's not a lot of information on it out there.

Based on the fact that low-volume keywords attract fewer searches per month, I think it is paradoxical to state that they could help to ensure that a blog site is highly ranked on YouTube.

What am I missing?

A lot of people believe that if you use less competitive keywords, you will be able to rank high. Well, you might rank high but if a lot of people are not searching for the keywords, you will still not get traffic.

Using low volume keywords can be an effective way to drive traffic to one's website. Although low volume keywords could have lower search rates, they are generally less competitive than high volume keywords.
