I would also say that freelance jobs provides opportunity for individuals to increase their streams of income because they can engage in multiple gigs.

Lack of paid work remains a major challenge for independent workers , large companies and powerful individuals are able to steal and divert all the orders, so there is very little paid work available.

One major challenge is competition. Let's say the budget for the job is $100. To get a chance of getting hired, I bid on $90, but the job would be secured by someone who bids on less than my bid amount.
