What brought the idea of buying and selling?

This has been something that I was sitting all alone and thinking.
In the olden times of the past which is when it started, how did humans come about the buying and selling of things to each other even though back in the days it used to be trade by barter and then it came to the use of cowries and other things to buy and some sell.

Buying and selling as been in existence as long as human being existed because it emanated from trade by barter where you exchange what you have for what you wanted.
