What can you do to give everyone a fair chance to speak at a business meeting?
If you are a good facilitator, you can ask each one to talk. It can be done by asking random questions. Then, you can ask them one-by-one. In this way, the meeting will not turned out to be boring.
After stating your opinion, you can easily give each and everyone an opportunity to be free and say what they think about what you have said and if they have an issue to address.
Anyone in charge of the meeting should give room to for asking of questions by each person. It can be done randomly too . to avoid it being boring just give the room to talk
You have to make sure everyone understands the agenda. Also, you need to encourage everyone present to contribute as their opinions are valid. Limit time for each staff to contribute so that it can go round.
Use online meetings like Zoom where people can raise hand. This way you will not miss anybody and everybody will come in line say what they want. If you skip them, everybody will see it.
Making the meeting and open one and bringing out key points that are interesting to everybody so as to get the opinion of everybody but first you have to make it more of a thing that everybody will contribute.
You need to start by making the discussion q participatory one. This will naturally encourage everyone present to contribute as their opinions. Time should be given to everyone to air their views.
You would have to send out the agenda in advance so that people would start creating opinions and contributions that they can share in the meeting. Agenda that is just made known at the commencement of the meeting doesn't give people enough avenue to form opinions.
As for me, I will give turn to all meeting participants to express their respective opinions, then accommodate every opinion that comes in, and apply the best opinion as a business decision.
Yes it wouldn't be a bad idea to get people to know about the meeting earlier. it will help people to know how to tackle the issues that will be raise in future
It should be the job of the chairperson or the facilitator of the meeting. When there is a discussion on a particular topic, every participant of the meeting should be asked to give his/her opinion.
It is also good to get yourself acquainted with the topic of discussion for the meeting so that you know the right questions to ask amd make yourself valuable during the meeting
During the netting, it would be good to create a time for questions and contribution. This would allow does who are not clear about certain things speak out and does who have things to address would also speak out as well.
