What do people look out for in high risk investments?

There are investors who only go for high risk investments. The rich and wealthy for example, majority of them usually prefer high risk investment cause they mostly believe the bigger the risk the bigger the returns. But there are some high risk investment which can still bring out low returns, so what do people look out for when taking an high risk investment? Is it just what they stand to gain, or is it the level of winning?

like you said @eldavis high risk, high return, thats the rules, i dont know about high risk investmen with low returns, how come high risk investment give us low return? if that happens, i will avoid this type of investment

it will be what they stand to gain for some people. you can't be going for a high risk investment with low return I don't think it will make any sense this way

People invest in them because they feel that they will get high income but they always end up losing money so there is no point.

Exactly my thought I can understand anyone going into a high risk investment because they are high returns but going because of low returns just to try out doesn't make sense

losing a lot of money in High Risk investment is totally normal @Bisolami because when you do High Risk Investment you only get 2 things High Return or High lose. thats part of this investment. we need to know it first before investing our money in this kind of investment *just my 2 cents
