What happens if a business is found to have violated its duty of care?

Every sector of the economy has a duty of care to its workers. If the business is found to have been negligent in this regard, a sizable settlement may be the case.

I read the news this day about the mom of Sarah G, her employees complain to the government sector, the Department of labor because they were not granted Christmas bonuses and are not allowed to file for a Christmas vacation leave. She is now in hot water for her daughter is a celebrity and might get involved with this controversy.

It can lead to legal complications for the business. No one would love to be treated this way, as an employee or employer, so why do the same to others?

In countries where laws are taken serious, compensation is mandatory but in my country where lawless is the order of the day, it will not yield any result.

Any company that failed or violated its duty of care would be sanctioned if not by the government, it could be by labour union. It's operations would be disturbed by the actions of the National labour union.
