There is a far better possibility of discovering the optimum solution when a group of people can generate ideas and assess them in a logical and detached manner. It is democratic and seems to be fair to all. Another reason is that when the project fails, majority of the people that voted for the ideas will be held responsible. It is also a good pointer that there is oneness or team up where everyone's ideas matters.
