Many people equate the meaning between a boss and a leader, meaning they can't tell the difference. The boss often only manages and gives orders without giving instructions or work directions, employees are just a tool to achieve success. While the leader will fight with the employees to achieve success together. Of course there are still many differences between the boss and the leader, are you willing to explain that?

A leader is a manager who commands respect and love while a boss is a manager who commands fear and prejudice. A leader achieve and empower people while a boss intimidate and kills self creativity.

If you go by a dictionary, there is no difference in the meaning of a boss and a leader. However, from a practical point of view, there is a huge difference.

I think that a boss is person who owns a place. on the other hand, a leader is a person who tends to lead other people. Both of them are definitely not the same.

Leaders will start something themselves and help others to follow the same path but a boss will start everything by employees.

A boss orders people and makes sure they do what needs to be done. A leader rather inspires you to do those things. The difference is the approach. I am a leader.

The name actually says it all, a boss is someone who doesn't care about how the followers or workers feel, all they are after is results, they do not even make any attempt in trying to carry people along. On the other hand, a leader is someone who makes sure everyone is carried along, they take their time in trying to understand does they work with to better create good results.

I believe that a boss can also be a leader but someone who is only acting as a boss will only want people to do all the work and he will take the glory but a leader will also help the people to do the work and share in the success of everything.

There is no difference between a boss and a leader because the boss and leader are words used interchangeably.
You said it right. We can say that both terms are synonym. If being a silly soul, I would say that the only difference is the spelling. The meaning itself is the same when it comes to a position title.
