If I am at work, I do not usually engage in small talk during the working hours. I only do this during the breaktime or perhaps during lunchtime. I used to do this when still working in my previous jobs. Now, I usually incorporate small talk while having my classes online. It is the best way to make the students online be engaged.

I always avoid those small talks because before you know it, you have wasted hours without knowing. Sometimes, I use diplomacy to avoid entering into pep talks because I discovered I use to lose concentration.
