Stock and mutual funds are investment instruments, but both are different in the investment process, yields/risks, and fees that must be issued. In the capital market, investors can determine the type of shares that he will buy, whereas in the mutual fund the decision to choose shares is in the hands of investment managers. So in essence, investing in shares will depend on the ability and yourself while the mutual fund will depend on the investment manager.

I dont have a clear preference between stocks and mutual funds. I think both have their pros and cons depending on the investors profile and preferences. Stocks offer more ownership stake and potential returns but also more risk and responsibility.
