No matter what happens, a business should not pause it's operations. The effects of a break in the operations of a business is huge.

By the time operations are paused for some time even as little as three days, customers have moved on. And it would be very hard for the business to gain back those customers. It is not good for customer retention.

The day a customer comes with his money to patronize you and you are nowhere to be found, he would find an alternative. And from that day, that customer is not a sure customer any longer.

This clearly defines me. It is frustrating for a customer when you suddenly take a break in business. They have to move on.

Pausing operation is very dangerous most especially if you are dealing with product that people use on a daily basis. Your customers may have to leave you for your rivals

It is non negotiable that when you come back to that business, you would have to resume from scratch. That's because customers won't wait without trying out other options and they might get to hooked on that particular business.

I don't know but customers moved on quickly maybe because they want what they want and don't need delays..So by the time operations are paused for some time they are gone

You clearly summarized this. It would take a high level of customer loyalty for a customer to come back to you after you resume your paused business. Just try and stay afloat as a business.

Yeah that's it it really takes a high level of customer loyalty for customers to come around after a paused business. A business should always try to have a continuous business progression

If you pause your business operations, you're making it very easy for your competitors to take your customers without finding it difficult at all.

It's quite common for businesses here to pause operation due to renovation. They usually put up a notice explaining the reason of the temporary closure and when they will re-open the business.

A business is assumed to be going concern without a definite expiration period. It is expected to keep running without having specific it would stop operating. Even though there may be unfortunate circumstances that may warrant such business to close, yet it is expected to keep running for life.

There was a time I paused operations on my farm for two months. By the time I resumed, all my customers were lost and till today, I can't get them back again.

When business pause, most especially if the business is not a well known one, it will be as if the business is just starting because the business may lose a lot of customers

Even if a business is well known, one thing you have to understand is that most customers don't like running from pillar to post in their patronage. That time you were on break, they have stabilized their patronage in another place.

And when they are used to other companies, they are gone from you. It would take them being hurt by the new companies for them to remember that you are back in business.

Pausing a business is more or less like you are just starting a business afresh, the difference is just that you have the experience of running the business which can help you to grow fast

You would have to start building markets afresh. That is why some businesses would not stop no matter the difficulties. They would rather stay afloat than stop their operations entirely.
