In my view, the best way to capture employees' attention is to use proper tones when delivering information to them. Since some people are not good at imagining, we can incorporate it with a combination of visual aids and audio files. I am sure that they will not feel bored listening to the host of the meetings. It is how you can capture their attention.

One of my previous companies, they provide some snacks or coffee while having the meetings. It can only offered during the break time. In this way, they can able to focus on the meetings.

Smartphone should not be allowed to use when the meeting is holding on because it is one of the biggest distractions that someone can have in any session.

At some occasions, it is allowed but they need to put them in a silent mode. It is not a good thing for the medical professionals to do this. If they do, some patients will die without being cared and treated by the doctors.

Some employees are quite sensitive. That is why we need to listen to them and address what they wanted. If we ignore them, the more they will not be productive in the company. It is the ugly truth about it.

You need to keep them involved and you need to go for meetings from time to time. Also, the meetings need to be interactive ones so that everyone can contribute

That's right I agree with you. By asking random questions, all employees will stay focused in attending the meeting. Because they worry about not being able to answer questions properly if they don't understand what was discussed at the meeting, because they don't focus when attending meetings.

I think that calling out employees and making persuasive arguments is also one of the most common ways to get the attention of employees. The fact remains that this could be a really hard thing to do.

Have you ever been in a meeting when some discussion is going on and there are some people in the meeting that are busy pressing their smartphone when the meeting is going on? What are you supposed to do to that kind of people?

As a professional, he must answer questions put to him as much as possible, if he always says "I don't know" then people will think of him as unprofessional and not paying attention during meetings.

But I believe that you cannot know everything. There are times when a question will be thrown at you and you may not know it or you might have forgotten what the answer is but it is good to have a little idea

That's why I said earlier, if someone always said "I don't know" to most of the questions asked to him, he would be considered unprofessional. If you only occasionally say "I don't know" maybe it can still be tolerated, but we still need to show effort if we are going to look for data before answering it.

In my workplace, there is no need to get the attention of the subordinates. It is an automatic knowledge to listen to avoid insult and there was no one ever that never paid attention during meetings.

Wow, that's so cool. Surely most of the employees in your place are mostly professionals and have a high level of discipline. During my internship in an office, I saw that during a meeting many employees were still busy themselves, either with their cellphones or chatting with friends next to them.

I am teaching at a university composing of professors at high levels of EQ from MA to Ph.D. No one dares to glance at a cellular phone or talk while the dean talks.
