Some people prefer conference calls over in-person meetings because they claim they take too much time. We cannot deny that we live in the modern era and that we must change with the times. Thus, we must make use of online communication.

That's what we do in the university, we use the GoMeet Google classroom, Zoom and Webex and HD Cloud.
It's not preferred during pandemic even this new normal, we go Webex meeting.
That's right because of the rising prices of gasoline.Many are affected.
This is the reason but not the main reason why companies prefer it because top management don't even consider these things.
That's because they want to recover minimal loses.
If distance is not a barrier, there is no need for conference call. But where there is distance barrier, there is need for conference call.
I still prefer the age long physical meetings. It allows emotions to flow and that is important in a meeting. That facial expression and emotions are important in decision making.
Conference call meeting is something that was very common during the pandemic of coronavirus because it was the only way companies were able to keep in touch with all of their staff who are working from home.
