When looking for potential workers or employees, we tend to look for does who we feel are qualified for the job, would you employ an older worker? Lets say a situation where you the person most qualified for the job is someone who is older than you. I know of some persons who might not want to higher someone that is older than them cause they find it hard to boss them around. What about you?

I would consider hiring them so long as they have the right abilities and qualifications for the jobs. The issue concerning the management of the ageing staffs takes care of itself on the gross and conduct on the workplace.

I would if he have many years of experience in work I need. In that case I don't need invest time into training him or just do very short. He would fast blend into job.

I won't hire an older worker for positions that would make such person do hard work, but I can for positions like human resources, consultant and the likes.since older people are not meant to undergo stress.

Why not? As long as he or she is not senior citizen yet. In my country, they are not allowed to work when reaching the retirement age. We cannot discriminate them not to be hired if they are qualified.

It depends on the job role of the senior. Any job role that requires mental or physical strain on the older employee should not be assigned. They are rightly suited for supervisory roles.

There are many people who work in offices and banks in my city and they are pretty old. They have no plans to seek retirement too early and they think that they can serve the company for a long time, so it depends on what you want in the first place.

There is nothing wrong with hiring someone who is older than you at your work place as long as the person have the skill and knowledge to deliver in the position that he or she is being employed.

There is no harm in having an older person as a staff working for you as they also need to be paid and have the money to fend for themselves and their families too and again if the older person has more experience on how to go about the task of the day then there is no reason not to hire them.

Sure, why not? If the person has good skills and knowledge, why not hire them? I mean, age is just a number for most things. If the person is older but has everything that is needed, then I don't see any issues.

Exactly what I was talking about having an older person to run your business as a staff is not a bad idea so long as they have the experience to perform the tasks and they are diligent for the work given to them to get their payments which will be used to fend for their families and themselves then we go for it.

Why not age is just a number to me. I will hire them provided you have the right abilities and qualifications for the jobs. Your age is secondary or means nothing to me

I think age does not matter. As long as the person has the knowledge and experience which meet with the requirement of the job, I see no reason for not hiring him/her. I personally have worked for a boss younger than me. No problem at all.

There is a need to look at age when the job is high pressure. It is not suitable for older people. You won't want to have someone slump in your organization.

They are strong older people. it's not everyone that's weak as they grow older. They are even younger people that can even go very weak under pressured job. So it isn't about age but the fitness of the person

To accept workers who are older than us, as long as they don't reach retirement age, of course we have to consider the type of work, if what we need is professional and experienced staff such as analysts, head of internal auditors, financial advisors etc., of course it's okay if we hire their power.

As for me, it's okay to hire older employees, as long as he can work professionally. If they can't work professionally, I will terminate them wisely, by giving them proper severance pay.

I agree with you on this. An older person has to be ascertained if he or she is fit if the job requires physical expense of energy. But older people are known to exhibit calmness in managerial positions.

Employing someone who is older than me is not a big deal as long as the person is ready to comply and also follow the rules and regulations of my company so that the company will continue to progress
