Treat others as you would want others to treat you. This is a guiding principle that we can follow if we want a fulfilled, happy and meaningful life. Just like the biblical proverb of you reap what you sow. Plant goodness for goodness to return back to you. Give love though it is unreciprocated as unreciprocated loves comes back to you in a millon ways.

What you say is a life principle that I have always adhered to. I always treat others well, even if they don't do the same for me. No problem. Because my heart will feel narrow if I have to hold grudges, anger and hatred.

I wish I will never hold grudge against people who've done me wrong, but I believe time heals.
As one ages this principle becomes easy to handle and that is what I noticed in my own case.
Not holding a grudge against someone who has done something wrong but is reluctant to apologize is not easy, but it is better than holding a grudge which actually makes our hearts feel narrow and painful.
Treat others as you would want others to treat you is indeed a golden rule on how we relate to others. If you practice this, you will have a happy and rewarding life.
