The business might be popular because it might have invested a lot of money in branding and marketing, however. it might not be making a lot of sales, or might have high running costs, therefore has less profits.

That's the goodness of the well known and the renowned businesses for that matter. Investing in such businesses would be more profitable.
I have never thought of investing internationally before. The reason being, l run a very small business that l can't reach that far.

Most popular kinds of businesses are always oversaturated and putting your money in such businesses doesn't really yield much.
