social media marketing can be helpful to online businesses as well as offline businesses. The only difference is social media marketing will help online business to generate sales directly, where as for offline business they do not generate sales directly
True, a person running his business offline can also make use of social media advertising, they can simply put in all the details they need to drop on how to reach them offline and even have a representative to interact with customers online.

I agree with you. The bigger picture is that it is the cheapest way to promote the marketing schemes of a company.
Every business, offline or online, should have an online presence and a dedicated social media page if it wants to go beyond it's physical location.
