Are Minimum Wages Needed?

Minimum wages are established by governments to ensure that people are supposed to have just enough to live on when working, to make sure they are not taken advantage by their employer. Is it needed, and should the actual minimum wage be higher than it is now, to keep up with actual cost of living?

Yes, you are right. the minimum wage has to be reviewed periodically. As a matter of fact, Hong Kong government just revised the statutory minimal wage to about US$5.5 per hour which will take effect in May 2023.

Yes it should be higher, cause truth be told like my country for example, the minimum wage is not even enough for a bachelor to even spend properly, not to mention a person with wife and kids.

I think the minimum wage for the country should be reasonable higher. This is because of the higher rates in the ongoing worldwide inflation. However minimum wages in some countries is a higher amount of money that can sustain a life.
