Are people more stressed now, than in the past?

Are people more stressed out than they were 30 years ago? Why or why not?

Comparing work environments and current civil environments, I say people are more stressed than what they were 30 years ago. I can tell you for sure, that people weren't so crazed about political correctness when I was younger, compared to now. Atleast in the U.S.A.

Yes here in India too things are not like they used to be in the past. As the price of things is so much increased that people hardly get time to spend with others. They remain busy with their work and stressed about their earnings.

@Yohanna, also competition is so stiff these days so people get stressed all the time. When you are in school your parents exert lots of pressure on you for getting good marks and when you start a job you have the pressure of your boss.

Definitely, global economic downturns are making people more financially and otherwise stressed than in the past because of a lot of . difficulties faced now by people. Life seems harder now

I think so. In the past, there was no internet and people were so mentally relaxed doing what they saw in their environments. This time, what stressed most people is the advantage of technology. Many are stressed watching videos, job searching, scamming , and many more.

Yes technology is really stressing people now . Look at working online we spend a lot of time on the screen even when we are supposed to be resting and it even affect our eyes.

@Starmix that is the valid reason. In the past people used to have lots of time to interact with others. I remember my childhood we used to go to relatives for a month on vacation but nowadays we don't send our kids anywhere. Even if they don't like to stay for a long to anyone's place.

That is right, and the only moment we can have our get-together inside our home is when there is a blackout or internet out. It feels better to have a short bonding with our family. This time all people at home focus on their celfons watching videos.

Same here but rarely it happens. We will be going out for vacation on the mountain where there will be no internet. We will have a get-together there. We are a family group of 18 people.

Yeah, it will be. The weather here is too hot these days in Delhi. The temperature reached 41°C yesterday. Hope we will find good weather there for at least 4 days. Kids are too much excited.

That's so hot like ours here in the Philippines. We're at 50 degrees C.

Our country is now facing a heat wave up to August. We are thankful this week, there is storm that washed away the hot temperature. This day, it's back to its extreme temperature. We do not go out from 9 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon.
