Are work parties effective?

I have heard and also come across some companies that then to throw parties once a month, while in some cases they would go out for team dinner. According to them, they believe this is a strategy used to promote communication amongst not just the workers but also to create a relationship between the workers and the employer. What is your take on this strategy?

I find it effective for building rapport between employers and workers, and between colleagues. But if done too often in my opinion it is not good, it tends to be a waste and a waste of time. I think it's better to hold it every 3-6 months.

I think work parties bring peaple together we have work parties sometimes we play games and do things like that it's fun and I enjoy them we don't do them often only on special occasions

You know all work and no play makes jack .... so this good as it is effective for building rapport between employers and workers. it will help them to socialize better

Yes, a lot of companies here are organizing team lunch or dinner once every three months. I think this kind of activities helps to build and enhance relationship among employees.

I think this strategy is too to expensive for smaller companies out there. Throwing a party can be so expensive to handle and can't even guarantee positive results as far as the reputation of the business is concerned.

I believe that it is an irrelevant expenses for a company to be throwing parties every month and for what reason should they be doing that because they have made so much money or what?

My opinion according to this kind of strategy of retaining workers in your workplace is that, it can drain the business and leave it with nothing absolutely for the operational costs. This is something that is not guaranteed to work out on any organisation as workers nowadays looks for better salaries.
