They had fixed the cost of snacks and in that range they used to serve us the variety of snacks.

Why is there no canteen? It is best for an employee to seek permission to operate a canteen as his business inside and just pay the rent.

This is how it should be but companies here don't offer free snacks or anything on a daily basis to workers I don't know why. They only pay salaries

You're lucky. I haven't heard here offices offering free meal even once a day. The employee must provide himself.
