Upwork is famous, but what applicants do not like is its system of bidding. Why not fit the applicants into the categories they like to write? Their clients will just choose whoever they like but not to the extent that each bid. Of course, the least bid will be accepted and will be given the chance to write with minimal pay. The pay must be based on the writers' qualification.

Although I have an Upwork profile, I rarely use it. Since most employers give preference to users who have talent badges, I have a hard time getting hired.

I think those with skills should look at upwork as they will certainly find people who like to get the work done and pay is decent and I am also planning to look at that as sometimes I feel bored with the forums and like to try something new
No, I am not a part of Upwork. However, I have read many different reviews about the site. There are many people who are working on that platform and they have stated that they are paid on time.
I joined the site some time ago but I gave it up soon because I do not have the required skills to do any tasks there. It is ideal for those who have the skills.
Yes Upwork is great platform but there is a high competition, you need to be expert in your field.
I have an account with upwork but have not gotten a single job there ever since I registered.

Even I don't have any skills to earn online and to call myself a freelancer so it's a long road ahead for me.
No! Am not on the freelancing site because I don't have any special skills and I don't have enough time to engage more on online training.
But I don't think they necessary require someone to have a special kind of skills, if you're good with writing articles, you can also register on the platform and request for gigs or bid for gigs rather.

Since you have an account with them, I think you should try and revisit the site, because getting an account approved on Upwork is another difficult task on its own.
