I agree with you. I had seen some posted complaints of some buyers for not receiving their orders. They paid the items being sold to them.

Not just on Facebook but there are so many online shop that are filled with scammer. If possible always try to make sure you get your products first before making payments. Which is make payments on delivery.

We should be extra careful when buying Fromm this site. I don't think FB conducted a good investigation on their partner suppliers. One must exercise due diligence in considering to buy from the site.

I go for products that are sold around me so that I can go see the product and inspect it by myself. The only fear I have about Facebook marketplace is that some people might be selling stolen products.

I have not tried to buy anything on Facebook's marketplace. As you had mentioned, it is best to see the products first before paying them. We cannot guarantee if they are in good conditions or not.

Facebook marketplace is not regulated therefore any transaction there is based on personal risk . Therefore, there is need to be cautious and security alert. I heard a story where one dude was kidnapped simply because he want to check out a car you saw on Facebook marketplace.

That was so horrible. Why did that dude come to the location without escorts? Hoping he was saved by authorities. It's not good to trust someone met on Facebook and even in a dating site. They might be criminals.

Even when you try to sell items you will face scammers, they will contact you and set a place to meet, you'll go there by consume your fuel when they meet they tell to lower the price or cancel the deal.

In my case, I will never meet someone met on Facebook or on the web. Better to report or right away or have a police escorts to avoid bad circumstances to happen during meeting with a stranger.

I arrange a meeting in a public place and at such places, there should be security presence. Make sure you get a receipt from a credible outlet before buying anything advertised on marketplace.
