For me l think that there is no reason whatsoever you should keep on explaining to them something that they never take heed.

I have the same principle. I do not need to explain myself to others, especially if deciding on something.

If the person needs explanation about something I've done, I'll entertain him/her once and explain. However, if s(he) keeps on asking irrelevant questions and do not understand my points, I just walk away.
