Do companies produce different specs of the same products for different countries and regions?

I observe that there are some products that have to be modded and unlocked before being used in some countries. This invariably means that those products were not produced for those countries. This is very popular in the electronics manufacturing sector. Why the disparity of different specs of the same products in different countries.

Phones that are produced for UK is different from the ones produced for EU. I found this on Samsung website. Even the ones used in America are different.

Some phones that you bring from UK to Africa have to be unlocked before usage implying that they were not made for the African market. I think it is intentionally done to suit the particular environment and market of a particular region.

As for cellphone products, I don't know much, but for food, sometimes it adjusts to the tastes of local residents. Example: In my country, instant noodle products have different seasonings based on the taste of the tongue of the local people.

Yes, there are many products which may be adjusted to suit the preference of people in specific location. Food business is a typical example. Skin care products may also vary as the skin texture of people of different cultures may be different.

Where I see this disparity the most is in cell phones though. Also, it is common for it to happen in food business. Some people call it bias but it is adjustment to local market conditions.

Yes, they do I have noticed that things produced for developed countries is different from the ones produced for Africa which is quite bad.

That's true. When you buy London used products, you would see the difference. I think they look at purchasing power to make these decisions on how to produce a particular product line differently for different regions.

Yes, companies create different quality products for different markets. The quality of the product in Asia is not same as in Europe even when manufactured by the same company

I think the companies do that looking at the purchasing power of the various markets. That is why they tailor different qualities to different locations.

Yes they do, let's take movies for example, even movies, they do remove certain things for most countries.

For me l think so. That is because there is different specs to cover different clients all over the world
