During my school days, I was having a hard time learning Filipino subjects. Can I blame myself? I do not think so because English is originally our first language during the American era in the Philippines before. It means we were more exposed to English textbooks. Did you experience this in your mother land?
Do you find it difficult to learn subjects that are connected to your native tongue?

To be honest, I find it challenging to grasp certain subjects written in Filipino. Sometimes, the vocabulary used is too complex for me to understand. LOL
When I was studying in high school, the medium of instruction was in English. Also, all our textbooks except Chinese literature and Chinese history were in English.
We did not learn anything in my native language but I did find it difficult to learn something in the State language.
But from Mindanao, well be recognized as not from Manila because of the intonation hard tongue, in Tagalog soft tongue
It is a shame that most of the people in Nigeria can read fluently in English but can't read in their native language.
What is your native language? I thought your native language is English only. We also have this problem here, native language is not in much use except we communicate in it but for any official work English is preferred.
I actually find it very easy to learn anything that is connected to my native language. It actually comes very easy for me.
