While searching for a new place, I arrived at a place where the painting in the building was quite depressing and affordable. I finally settled for the one that was attractive and beautiful although very costly

That's just the difference between a maintained house and a house that lacks maintainance and that shows that the house owner tend to gain more from the house when it's maintained because at that point in time, it will always stand out among other houses in the locality.

Some house owners are just interested in getting the rent without any interest in maintaining the house. And that mostly happens in houses that are inherited by irresponsible children. No one would suffer to build a house and not maintain it in the end.
