Do you negotiate prices when you buy anything?

I see lots of people bargain with the shopkeepers for the price they boy a product and even shopkeepers reduce the rates too compared to the MRP.

I wonder how much profit margin they have if they sell a product on MRP. Do you negotiate prices?

I am saying it in a humble way. I must say that I am good at negotiating. When I was in China, I was able to do it by sign language. For the reason that I cannot speak their language.

If I am in a mall or grocery store, I don't have a chance to negotiate because they are already tagged.

I also learned a lesson that I should not negotiate prices at the farmer's market. In supporting local farmers and vendors, I am not asking for discount.

Yes i do this a lot, even when i am very much aware the current price i would still try my luck. But there are certain times where i just pay for it without any argument.

That depends. If I buy things in the wet market or from small stores, I may negotiate the price. Those shopkeepers are prepared. They probably mark up the price a bit.

I would like to improve on it because these days most such sellers demand higher price thinking that we'll negotiate and if we don't then we need to pay a higher price for the product

I always negotiate price whenever I am buying something but I am not very good at it like my sister

Yes I do negotiate. Even when I am shopping online, I still negotiate. I would call the seller directly and negotiate.

I think that it is good to negotiate prices but unfortunately I am not good at it because I am too shy.

This is a typical norm in Nigeria market. We are not running perfect market here. It is expected to negotiate when you are buying in the market and that is why the sellers on their part inflate the prices.

I do try my best to always try and bid down the price. In other circumstances, I am able to make the seller add more to the price he or she sells.

If I buy goods in a large store like a supermarket, then I don't haggle. If I buy goods at a market, I sometimes haggle if the price is considered high enough, and do not bid if the price is common.

Yes, I like to negotiate price while buying but I do not do this in a fixed price shop, I do not want to embarass myself by bargaining in a shop where they have fixed price
