I know that some people have to support family members to meet their financial needs. For those of you that support family financially, does it strain your finances doing so? I am lucky that I don't have to support my parents financially?

You have the same luck that I have. All my siblings are doing well and don't need to depend on me as the first son. My parents don't need my money. I have seen young people work hard with nothing to show because they have to support family.No, I don't support. When my father was still with us he's a huge pension as a retired military official. We also had 10 hectares coco farm but sold the 5 hectares when our dad was sick of cancer and ee need big money. The remaining 5 hectares were distributed by the 5 of us in the family.

I agree with you that parents can afford to buy things with their own money. For us, we give money to them to bring back their selfless sacrifices for us.My family contributes to give my mom upkeep money. Not that she can't afford to take care of herself but it is just we just decide to go and we are not under pressure.
