Investing is not without risk and sometimes we fail. This is the truth of investment. Losing money is annoying, but that's not the whole story. The hard part of the story is that you have to tell your family that you failed the investment. How do you tell them this truth? Especially when your family is in a difficult situation. Yes, I will tell my family that I fail in my business, and I really did tell them when I failed in my first business. My family sympathized with my feelings. They were not angry at me but extend their helping hands by giving me big capital so, I was able to let my business shine again.
I will always tell them because they are the real companion I have, and never will they mock me but motivate me and even tell me about my flaws which I would learn about in case of some other time.
Speaking about that to even other people like a business partner, business consultant and associates, if I can tell these people I mentioned about my business failure then why shouldn't I tell my family members about it.

I'd rather remain silent and not tell anybody. I'm a very shy person, I figure it'll be too embarrassing that I failed so I'll remain calm and resilient. Telling someone might not be bad but I feel it'll make your family members think less of you

Glad to hear that. Yes, the family should be together in difficult times. But unfortunately, some people blame you instead of supporting you. Sometimes When the family is in a difficult situation, feelings have no meaning
I am pretty independent when it comes to making investment. I make my own decisions. I do share a bit with my family about what I have invested in but no details on profit or loss.
At first it was hard to tell them that I failed on the investment that I ventured with, there were times that I just kept it on to myself, but the more I kept it from them, it is harder to carry, so what I did, I gradually tell them the plight of my investment, and as time goes by, every time, there's new investment to take, it is now easy to tell to them, even it failed.
I need a second though and the best person will be from my family. I would surely share with my family about the failure of my business. They can help me ease my loneliness and sadness. I need comfort from them not from anybody else.
I have not made any investments at the moment but if I were to make one and it ended up being a failed investment, I would more than likely tell them but I also feel it would depend on how big the loss was that I ended up getting. I believe this is why I have not as of yet done a whole lot of investing as I worry that it will fail.
I don't even tell anyone about my investments. It is my personal endeavor. If it fails, I chest it and take full responsibility for it. I don't even like to be pitied.

Well, anyway, when you have a family, you have to explain to them sometimes. For example, our income will decrease soon or we will go bankrupt. Anyway, it is their right to know
If it was my own money, then I would hide all my failures. So they don't have to feel sad and disappointed, for the failure that happened to me. But if it's a joint venture, I can't help but have to tell them. To avoid misunderstandings in the future.
