Internet is definitely a time saver. You can communicate with a person instantly and anytime, anywhere. Back in those days where fax machine was used, you need to use a lot of paper. You can save a lot of paper with online communication.

I think the internet is just a medium, so it all depends on the user again. If used properly and correctly, it will save time, but if workers are not trustworthy, they open things that are not important during working hours, it will waste time.
