Does a company need to hire a lawyer for business transactions?

They need not hire someone permanently and should hire if they need any help or assistance and that would be cheap and would be in the best interest of the company

In the university where I work, there are two lawyers. They are in house lawyers ready to serve with full trust and honesty.

I think it's not a must for them. If the business fails to afford the costs for hiring a lawyer they can seek for alternative means.
