Does a music video generate more money for an artiste?

Music is food to the soul. And a good music video is a pleasant watch. I listen to artistes and I hear the amount they mention as expenses on a music video. Sometimes, it is plain outrageous.

My question is if a music video generates that much revenue to cover up the cost of the video and generate a profit for the artist?

Popular artists earn millions of dollars from YouTube from their music videos. You would see a particular video having up to 200 million views. That is money.
