Giving your property to orphans even when you have children

Would you out of charity give your property to ophahs even when your children are not doing too well. Do you find this very normal?

Even if my children are not doing well, I would still leave something for them no matter what.

These days many children leave the shores seeking greener pastures and do well and at the same time there is no hope of them getting back and in such situations I suppose it is fine to give the property to orphans

This is not easy to do. I've heard of someone who intends to give all his money to charity, not leaving a cent to his children.

Most people that go that path very likely had irresponsible children that refused to take their life seriously.

There is nothing wrong giving an orphan property if you have enough and feel your own children are highly blessed I don't see why I won't give it to those who don't have at all.
