Bargaining in Nigeria when trying to buy a thing is very important . Because even the sellers will expect this from you. if you don't you get cheated and bug the item at a higher price. I haggle a lot with sellers and have a good buy at the end of the day as I would be buying at a far lesser price. Do you practice this in your country?

This is practiced at road side type of business or a market place . You can not see such bargaining at supermarket or big stores. Bargaining is universal and sometimes it helps the buyer to get quality stuff at cheap price. On the other hand, it may not help the buyer because once there is drop in price just know it that the quality is not guaranteed.
Mostly everyone want value for the money and this strategy to bargain is very good and could help you save some money but emphasis should be that you get to buy a good and quality product.Though it must not be at centre stage always,at times all you have to do is get contacts or be in the mailing list or follow the social handles for alot of stores and you will be getting notifications when they announce massive discounts and more value for your money offers such as buy three and get one for free or something like that.In that way you are getting quality and genuine products but cheaper.Unlike always going to look for cheaper products.
I am not good at it but my wife is good at it. That's the reason I always take her with me when have to buy something. She's so expert in it that sometimes she asks for half rate what the rate at which a seller is selling the product and we get it.

I haggle a lot here because I know without doing that it will be getting myself cheated here.
When I feel like the item is being sold at a high price despite a low quality, I am willing to haggle for a better deal.

Haggling is in evitable or you get cheated. So bargaining and besting the price down is it.
It is important to try and bid the price level down. It is commonly employed in open informal markets. Even organize markets like the online space do it too.
Someone once said the best way to find out if the price given to you is the last price is for you to walk away. If you are called back and they agree to reduce it, that means it was not the last price as they have claimed. But if you are not called back then it's truly the last price.
That depends on where I shop. If I shop in a wet market, I bargain a lot with the sellers. They expect customers to do this. They have actually marked up the price to leave room for lowering the price. However, if I buy from shops in a Mall, the price is fixed. I won't waste time to bargain.
Haggling is an important skill in life. It has been ingrained in the Nigerian culture such that the seller would always take the price high expecting you to haggle till you get to price that is favourable for him to sell.
Even when you haggle, they might still cheat you if you don't have an idea of the price range that thing could be. That's why you need to find out the possible prices of things before going to buy.
