If it happens that I have extra, then I won't hesitate to finance someone's business. I financed my brother's investment.

I've financed my brother but his business failed because of his treacherous wife, after they broke up I lent him capital for his investment. He's now having a good investment.

Its a risk because what if the other person is not competent enough and then we won't be able to get even our investment back

It's a risk to finance someone else business. He might not be successful so our money may not be returned.

It's not advisable to finance outside from our family. The person might not show up in pay us unlike our family.

That's why its better to finance and help someone we know or is part of our family and this is the best option
