I stayed in a house that had a leaking roof when I was in college. The landlord delayed in fixing it and it really affected me. Had to move my books and other things to a friend's place to avoid damage to them when it rains.
I have not stayed in a leaking house. But have worked in an office with a leaking roof. Water kept on dripping. I had to move to another booth to work.
I had experienced this in the old house of my granny in the countryside. The good thing is that it was being repaired when she came back from the USA.
