Have you used free hosting before?

I used free hosting for my sites in the past, but they’re usually limited. I think free hosting is great for those on a budget and or just starting out. Have you ever used free hosting before? Which free host is your favorite?

A friend of mine makes use of it but it's all because he doesn't have any big plans for his website.
For me, it's not advisable because of the limitations it comes with when compared to paid hosting.

Several but lately I use infinity free hosting. Stabile, no ads, Cpanel, FTP upload available. Not much space or bandwith but for startup projects is good.

The ads aren't disturbing but the fact of limitation with phpmyadmin and nosql services is the most limitation so for free mode the MySQL database is only 100 MB that is not enough even for users signups, but to grow up you have to pay for increase your package.

I have used a couple of free hosting options in the past, however, options are extremely limited. Free hosting may work for some individuals, but for me, it doesn't do much good. I have to do some form of paid hosting.

I used free hosting in the early days of my "internet career" it helped me out when I was a newbie because all I had to master was the admin panel of my forum. Once I was comfortable with that I was able to move up to working with cPanel, FTP software, phpMyAdmin, etc.

So, "no ads" means, we cannot try monetization also. Right?

On some websites, you cannot place your ads with their ads so you have to pay only for ad removal and keep your subdomain and extension so for some sites paying for ad removal to place your banner is a separate service.

I have used free hosting, I recommend free hosting for those who want to gain experience in running websites. Once you build skills, you should move to paid hosting.
